Why is understanding music a valuable skill to have, especially in the 21st century?There are so many reasons that music education is valuable to us. Making & Studying music teaches responsibility and problem solving. It builds community. Students are learning a new language and developing their reasoning abilities. Students are developing emotionally, socially, and kinesthetically. Music requires you to learn through failure and persevere to develop a given skill. Lastly, students are engaging in society and culture through their study of music. They are able to engage and analyze the world on a deeper level.
